May the 14th
In the year of 1948 (5708 in The Jewish Calendar) a glorious and wonderful thing took place in a far away land. The return of the Exiles began it's reality with the birth of The State of Israel. Yes, it has now been 52 years since the Jewish people declared by The Might and Power of God, the establishment of a homeland for a people that had been disbursed for nearly 2,500 years. Long before the days of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Jewish people had no country of their own, that they could call home.
God in His infinite Grace and Wisdom, brought forth from the ashes of the holocaust the joy of a nation being born in a day. "Who hath heard such a thing? Who have seen such things? Shall the Earth be made to bring forth in one day? Or shall a Nation be born at once? For as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children." (Isaiah 66:8)
Six million of God's Holy, Chosen and Special people (Deuteronomy 7: 6), called the Jews, gave up their lives in order for a homeland in the Middle East to be recognized that ultimately became what we know today as the State of Israel.
The United States of America was the first country in the world to recognize Israel as a viable State. As The Word of God reminds us in Genesis 12: 3, "And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee:". Surely, this is one major reason why the Lord has indeed blessed America in so many ways. Thank you Lord, and God bless Israel on this Anniversary (52 years old).
Prophecies and Fulfillments
Glorious things have been spoken in reference to The Word of God and it's promises. For example, how many prophecies have already been fulfilled, such as, The Coming of our Messiah, The Lord Jesus Christ; His birth, His life, His death, burial and resurrection. It is said that from the time Y'shua (Jesus) was conceived up until He ascended to the right hand of God, over thirty-three promises found in The Old Testament came to fruition. Well, there are other utterances in Scripture that have as much validity to them, such as, the establishment of a place (The Land of Israel), and, a government (The Knesset, - similar to our Congress), with whom our Lord, when He returns to this Earth, will deal directly with the established leadership of the Jews, as recorded in the following Scripture, "And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, The Spirit of Grace and of supplications; and they shall look upon Me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for Him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for Him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn". (Zechariah 12: 10) "And His (Y'shua our Lord) feet shall stand in that day upon the Mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east,". (Zechariah 14: 4)
feet shall stand in that day upon the Mount of Olives, which
is before Jerusalem on the east,". (Zechariah 14: 4)As you can tell by the above Scriptures, there is coming a day in which our Blessed Jesus will descend from Heaven to present Himself to the nation and people of Israel, and as He does, He will declare Himself as Lord of lords and King of kings. You and I, as God's children will be with Him to witness the full and complete redemption of His earthly people Israel, and then soon thereafter eternity will be ushered in (after some further events take place according to the Book of Revelation). Oh what glory that will be.
"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." (John 3: 16)
The Land of Israel
THREE CHRISTIANS ARRESTED:
(Bethlehem) - Three U.S. citizens were arrested by Palestinian police as they handed out leaflets in Bethlehem recently. They were detained and questioned about suspected Christian missionary activity before being handed over to the Israeli authorities at the local District Coordinating Office. The three people were finally released from police custody after authorities found nothing strange or suspect in their behavior, according to Judea and Samaria Police spokesman, Rafi Yaffe.
JEWS MOVE TO SOUTH FLORIDA:
(West Palm Beach) - Ten percent of all American Jews now live in the south Florida counties of Palm Beach, Broward, and Miami-Dade, according to a new study commissioned by the Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County. Some 644,000 Jews have moved to these areas. In northern and central Palm Beach County alone there are 101,568 people in Jewish households, making this area the 12th largest Jewish community in America - larger than those in Cleveland, Detroit and Milwaukee. In all of Palm Beach County the total is 230,000, making the entire county the sixth largest Jewish community in the United States, ahead of Jewish populations in Boston, the San Francisco area, Philadelphia and Washington. These three Florida counties have increased by 30 percent during the past twenty years, and now make up the largest concentration of Jews in the nation after the New York metropolitan area.
WHAT A MIRACLE:
Imagine, our newest branch of Shalom Scripture Studies, Inc., has been in operation in the State of Florida for almost one and a-half years. Join with us in saying, Thank you Lord.
News from Shalom Scripture Studies
Our Passover Seders (Services) in Savannah, Minneapolis and Naples were blessed of our Lord. Our branch in Minnesota led by Rev. and Mrs. Nathan Knibb held two (2) Seders to accommodate the crowd. Mazol Tov (Congratulations).....
At our branch in Florida, Rev. Jack Molloy conducted his first Passover Service, and as he reports, his son Zach did a good job in helping his Dad. We are very proud of both of them.
Well, in our own backyard, here in Georgia, Dr. and Mrs. Hidalgo once again cherished each moment of the seven days of Pesach (Passover), and as the traditional song was sung, "next year in Jerusalem', they both reminisced about the year (1983) when they had the joy of celebrating the Feast of Unleavened Bread in the City of Jerusalem.
Dr. and Mrs. Hidalgo, Rev. and Mrs. Knibb, and, Rev. Jack Molloy -- known as 'the shalom staff', want to take this opportunity to thank each one of our Associate Members for your faithfulness and steadfastness in praying and supporting the work of our Lord. May He richly bless you.
"Pray for the peace of Jerusalem; they shall prosper that love thee". (Psalm 122: 6)
Your continued prayers and support for Shalom Scripture Studies Chapels in all three places are appreciated. Thank you so very much.
