The Year 2002
Are days, weeks, months and years important to The Almighty God?
Are they mentioned in The Holy Bible? YES, from the first Book in
The Holy Scripture (Genesis) through the last Book of The Bible
(Revelation), we do find that The Lord is involved with time. The first
mention of years is found in Genesis 1:14, "And God said, Let there be
lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night;
and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years ".
As we are at the beginning of the year 2002, we need to know and
understand that the Lord is in charge and in control, and, that He is
on time with His eternal plans for our lives. We on the one hand,
make and break resolutions and commitments in trying to conform
and realign our daily actions with our own selfish end in mind. For
example, how many of us have already broken certain New Years
promises? There's hope, we have the rest of the year to rectify and
resolve certain issues in order to bring to pass some form of resolute
order. On the other hand, our Lord never makes mistakes nor does He
need to re-do or un-do anything, for He is perfect in all of His ways and
His actions. Thank you Lord. Therefore, you and I would be very wise
(and Scriptural) if we would do the following:
"Trust in The Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own
understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy
paths.Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear The Lord and depart from
evil. It shall be health to thy navel and marrow to thy bones. "
(Proverbs 3: 5-8). You might ask yourself, o.k., where can I begin? We
are so glad you asked. The answer is found in the following text in
(Proverbs 3: 9), "Honor (obey The Lord through His Word) The Lord
with thy substance (Time, Talents and Tithes), and with the first fruits of
all thine increase ". May 2002, be the best of all years in our lives.
Shalom (Peace) unto you, and your loved ones.......
"Brethren, My heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they
might be saved. For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but
not according to knowledge. For they, being ignorant of God's
righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have
not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. For Christ is the
end of the law for righteousness to eveiy one th believeth".
(Romans 10: 1-4).
Someone has said long ago, that Israel (The Jewish people) are God's
time clock. How true this is. If we would keep our hearts in Scripture,
and our eyes on the issues developing before us, in relationship to the
events surrounding the Nation and People of Israel, we would be better
equipped to understand the plan and program of our Lord dealing
with 'all' nations and people.
Example: On May the ]14th, 1948, the State of Israel was born, and as a
result, blessing after blessings have flowed upon the Nations of the
world since that time. On June the 6th, 1967, The City of Jerusalem
became unified under Jewish authority and rule, thus opening the door
for the coming Kingdom of God here on earth, ultimately bringing
peace from the City of Jerusalem, through The Prince of Peace (Our
Lord Jesus Christ), as He sits upon the throne of David to establish it
forever, and in turn the beneficiaries of all this will be the people of this
In the meantime we have our work cut out for us in continuing to
reach out to the Jewish people with the knowledge of The Truth,
Who is Y'shua (Jesus) our Messiah.
A Jewish man by the name of Thomas in speaking to our Lord Jesus
Christ said in (John 14: 5), "we know not ... and how can we know..?
The answer that The Messiah of Israel gave him is the same message
that you and I must give out to Israel, "Jesus saith unto him (Thomas),
I am The Way, The Truth, and The Life: no man (Jewish or Gentile)
cometh unto The Father, but by Me". (John 14:6).
Shalom Scripture Studies through the generosity of our Associate
Members has for twenty-six (26) years been dedicated to this
honorable task. We thank you, and to God be all the glory.
News from The Land of Israel
ARUTZ-SHEVA (www.a7.org) - Dr. Benzion Allswang is feeling very
thankful, after having miraculously, survived this summer's shooting
spree in Chicago. Dr. Allswang, the author of a book entitled, "The
Final Resolution," which offers a Jewish traditional perspective on the
nature of anti-Semitism through the ages, was able to experience this
topic firsthand - without even realizing it! He told Arutz-7's Ron Meir
"A car pulled up to the curb behind my daughter and I as we were
walking to synagogue. Suddenly, a very loud noise came from the car.
At first, I thought that since it was the 4th of July weekend, he was
some sort of prankster throwing a firecracker at us, and then I thought
it might be a fake gun. I am very nearsighted, and I wasn't wearing my
glasses. My frightened daughter ran to the synagogue while I stood
there, not knowing what to expect.
He pulled up closer to me, to within about 15 feet. I didn't move and
didn't make eye contact with him, since I didn't want to show him that
I was scared. Then there were another 3 or 4 shots. I felt some wind,
but that was the extent of it. He drove off, and I went on to the
Midway through the service, Allswang decided that it would be a good
idea to warn his wife and others "about this prankster who may
continue to scare people. Along the way, I saw a police car and told the
officers about what happened. They told me that he was no prankster,
but a real gunman, and that he had just shot other people." After
putting his daughter to bed that night at 11:30, Allswang noticed a hole
in his shirt in the vicinity of the abdomen. "This was strange, I
thought, since my wife takes very good care of Shabbat (Sabbath)
shirts," he noted. "Exactly five minutes later, the police arrived, and I
told them the whole story. They asked to see my suit jacket, and lo and
behold, there were three bullet holes in my jacket! It was only then that
I I realized the full extent of the unbelievable miracle. I recited the
special HaGomel (He who saves) blessing the next day with more
thankfulness and concentration than I'd ever prayed before!"
"For I am The Lord, I change not; therefore ye sons of
Jacob (Dr. Benzion Allswang) are not consumed."
Our Shalom Scripture Studies Branches
Dr. and Mrs. Hidalgo continue their mission before The Lord in
reaching out with the Good News of Salvation. Their three weekly
services bring much inspiration to those that attend on a regular basis.
The television programs in the greater Savannah area can be seen on
cable channel #-14 and #-7. We are receiving inquiries about our faith.
This month we witnessed the passing of Sigo Mendel into heaven. He
was one of our Hebrew-Christian young men (just barely in his early
forties). We will miss him, yet we know according to The Scriptures
that Sigo is with our blessed Lord Y'shua. (Tel # 1-912-691-0709).
Rev. and Mrs. Knibb are starting their fourth (4th) year in full-time
faith service before our Lord in the St. Paul-Minneapolis area. They
also conduct three services every week, with both Jewish and Gentile
individuals in attendance. All of our television programs that are seen
throughout the United States are sent every month from our Shalom
branch office in The Twin Cities. Please remember them in your
prayers as they faithfully serve our Messiah. (Tel # 1-952-925-6186).
Rev. Jack A. Molloy is our minister in charge of our Naples area. He
conducts two services every week. He also daily maintains our world
wide web site that reaches all over the world. As a result, we do receive
many e-mails asking us for more information. As you all probably already know,
we do have many of our television programs on the web. Our Shalom facilities
in Naples has been decorated and made ready to receive many visitors
and guest. (Tel 4 1-941-263-7093).
Please continue your prayers and support for Shalom Scripture
Studies in all three places. Thank you so very much.
